2026 Week 40 Price Commentary

Last week, most tire raw materials saw price increases, while only carbon black N660 posted a mild correction. Despite low operating rates among downstream tire manufacturers, raw material prices did not soften significantly. Meanwhile, tire prices remained unchanged, leaving tire producers under persistent cost pressure.

Butadiene edged down from 13756 to 13708, yet most downstream synthetic rubber grades moved up. PBR BR9000 rose from 15225 to 15566. ESBR 1712 and SSBR 2564S also climbed moderately to 13300 and 13000 respectively. NdBR 9106 and Butyl rubber BB2030 stayed firm at 22500 and 34500. Natural rubber also trended higher: SVR3L increased to 19550 from 19312, and STR20 MIX went up to 18716 from 18415. Carbon black N660 was the only raw material with a price dip, falling from 10950 to 10266.

In summary, tire operating rates stayed relatively low, but rubber raw materials were supported by spot availability and market sentiment without notable price declines. However, finished tire prices have not been lifted accordingly. With rising raw material costs and limited ability to pass cost pressure downstream, tire manufacturers continue to face heavy margin squeeze. Buyers mainly carry out routine spot replenishment, and the margin gap between raw materials and finished tires will persist in the short run.
